ATTENTION! PLEASE BEWARE, SCAMMERS HAVE BEEN USING MY NAME IN FRAUDULENT EMAILS TARGETING OTHER ARTISTS. PLEASE DO NOT ENGAGE THEM, BUT DO REPORT THEM. They will express interest in purchasing your work (often with urgency for some bogus deadline, anniversary present, etc.) The scam is that they will agree on a price but want to send you a check for about twice the amount so that you may pay their “handler” or assistant. They will actually send you a check that looks legit and instruct you to wire the difference to a third party. They are counting on the money being wired during the short time period between the bad check deposit and the bank recognizing the fraud. THAT IS THE SCAM. They do not want to actually receive any artwork, just get you to wire the cash difference between your agreed price of the art work and the inflated amount of the check they send.
